Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to lawyers and legal professionals - team players preferred.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate and up-to-date files
- Organize and manage legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
- Assist with clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and e-filing
- Transcribe dictations and prepare legal documents
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Answer phone calls and take messages with professionalism and courtesy
- Utilize document management systems to store and retrieve files
Experience:
- Five years experience as a legal assistant in Domestic Relations, Real Estate and/or Probate, is preferred
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and file management
- Proficient in using computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, Clio, and Quickbooks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and a positive outlook
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
