What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits & Payroll Associate position at Bridgewater Bank?
We are seeking a meticulous, self-directed, and collaborative Benefits & Payroll Associate to join our HR team at Bridgewater Bank in St. Louis Park. Reporting to the Benefits & Payroll Manager, in this role, you are responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan. In addition, the role will administer the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer the company's benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other benefits as defined).
- Maintain employee benefit files.
- Process all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Reconcile monthly employee paid benefit billings to payroll records; identify and resolve billing discrepancies. Submit invoices to accounting for payment.
- Assist with administering employee savings plans (401(k) plan, Profit Sharing, and deferred compensation).
- Assist with leave of absence tracking and disability paperwork; for medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
- Administer COBRA notifications and terminations in a timely manner.
- Process semi-monthly and any off-cycle payrolls ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
- Monitor time and attendance systems for accuracy of time records, including approvals of timecards and PTO requests.
- Process and monitor garnishment orders.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices. Including review of remittance of payroll taxes.
- Respond to benefit and payroll inquiries from managers and employees.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in payroll and benefits administration and regulations.
- Develop reports as required from the HRIS database.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-4 years of employee benefits and payroll administration experience
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP, Paylocity, Workday, etc.) would be a plus; UKG system experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The typical hourly base pay range for this role is between $30.90 - $38.45/hour. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
