Position: 250020 - Oracle CCS Conversion Designer
Location: Hybrid - San Antonio, Texas (3-4 days/week onsite)
An "Oracle CCS Conversion Designer" is responsible for designing and executing data migration strategies, mapping legacy data from existing customer care and billing systems to the Oracle Utilities Customer Cloud Service (CCS) platform, ensuring a smooth transition during an implementation project, with expertise in data analysis, transformation, and cleansing techniques to ensure data integrity within the new system.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis:
- Assessing existing customer data from legacy systems to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and potential mapping complexities.
- Data Mapping:
- Creating detailed data mapping documents to define how legacy data fields will be translated and transformed into the corresponding Oracle CCS data structure.
- ETL Development:
- Designing and developing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from legacy systems, perform necessary transformations, and load it into the Oracle CCS database.
- Conversion Strategy Development:
- Defining the overall data conversion approach, including data cleansing procedures, validation rules, and error handling mechanisms.
- Data Validation and Quality Assurance:
- Performing data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness throughout the conversion process.
- Testing and Troubleshooting:
- Participating in data conversion testing phases, identifying and resolving data issues, and documenting findings.
- Documentation:
- Creating comprehensive documentation on data conversion processes, mapping details, and potential data risks.
Required
- Deep understanding of Oracle Utilities CCS:
- Thorough knowledge of the Oracle CCS data model, functionalities, and configuration options.
- Data Conversion Expertise:
- Proven experience in large-scale data migration projects, including data mapping, ETL development, and data cleansing techniques.
- Data Analysis Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools to identify data patterns, anomalies, and potential issues.
- SQL Programming:
- Strong SQL skills to query and manipulate data within Oracle databases.
- Programming Languages (optional):
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PL/SQL to automate data conversion tasks.
