Job Summary
The Quality Assurance & Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that behavioral health services comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies. This role involves auditing the electronic health record (EHR) and operational practices, evaluating the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of behavioral healthcare regulations and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct Audits and Reviews
- Perform comprehensive audits of documentation throughout all stages of patient chart status to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
- Review patient charts and records for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to the Oregon Administrative Rules, Federal privacy laws (HIPAA & 42 CFR Part 2), and accreditation standards (e.g., Council on Accreditation).
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve compliance, enhance service quality, and address deficiencies identified during audits.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by reinforcing best practices in compliance and quality performance.
