Overview
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance and electrical department. Evaluates equipment, systems and facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules. Develops maintenance procedures and preventative/active maintenance schedules. Works with reliability engineer to develop a preventative maintenance plan. Oversees all incoming and outgoing vendors.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that LOTOTO is being followed strictly.
  • Issue work permits for vendors.
  • Be the on-call resource for power outages, emergency breakdowns, and alarm systems able to physically be on-site when necessary.
  • Building and grounds maintenance experience is as critical as industrial maintenance.
  • Participates and leads assessment of equipment.
  • Follow up on vendor work and perform inspections when work is completed not releasing vendor until inspection is completed.
  • Ensure that LOTOTO is being followed strictly.
  • Utilize SAP and Ebuy systems to place orders as necessary.
  • Be a contact person for capital projects, work with the maintenance team to define yearly capital projects to raise the level of professionalism and dependability within the factories.
  • Work with the production leads to build schedules for operator lead greasing program.
  • Provide technical guidance and support
  • Identify problem areas with machinery and building maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • Ensure that repairs are made in a timely manner without going over budget.
  • Comply with all local, state and federal codes.
  • Manage Mill Costs
  • Stay abreast of new technologies which may be implemented to reduce costs and increase productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order parts and materials
  • Check pricing and outstanding orders.*
  • Justify and cost all capital projects made (Electrical/Mechanical).*
  • Attend Seminars as needed.
  • Design new drives and do calculations on conversions.*
  • Coordinate repairs to machinery and buildings.*
  • Answer calls for alarm systems or break downs*
  • Calculate cost effectiveness between doing work in house or outsourcing.*
  • Identify training needs and coordinate training to enhance employee abilities.*
  • Stay abreast of all new local, state, and federal guidelines including EPA..*
  • Implement PM schedule.
  • Maintain and improve preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance programs.*
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the Environmental Management System (EMS).*
  • Assist in EMS objectives
  • Reduce required reactive maintenance through continuous improvement.*
  • Promote team environment
  • Support BOS.*

Perform other duties as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience

Experience: 5-10 manufacturing experience. 1-2 in a supervisory role

Skill At: Ability to lead others, team building, coaching, safety-oriented, Lean Manufacturing, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, working with unions preferred.

Knowledge of: Mechanical/Electrical aptitude. All levels of Shop Floor, fluent in MS Office programs. Mainly time is on production floor, which includes hot and cold temperatures, loud noise, and dust.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Conditions include environmental (hot/cold, inside/outside, noise level, lighting, ventilation, etc.) and social (works with the public, works under deadlines, works alone, etc.).

The employee lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

EQUIPMENT, AIDS, TOOLS AND MATERIALS USED:

Personal computer and printer, telephone, fax machine, scientific calculator, standard office supplies, reports, forms and other reading material.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Conditions include environmental (hot/cold, inside/outside, noise level, lighting, ventilation, etc.) and social (works with the public, works under deadlines, works alone, etc.).

Approximately 75% of work time is spent within an manufacturing environment while the remaining 25% is spent within reporting and administrative functions. Within that context, the employee works near moving mechanical parts; in high precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level within the work environment is loud.

When entering and while remaining within designated areas of the plant, the employee is required to wear standard safety equipment consisting of approved eye protection, safety shoes and, if applicable, hearing protection.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
