Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer
Bridon Industries – Shakopee, MN (Full-Time, On-Site)
Bridon Industries is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer to join our team in Shakopee, MN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing design criteria, creating designs, conducting research, and managing the testing of prototypes. You will also be involved in creating engineering documentation, coordinating estimates, and supporting process improvement projects.
As a Design Engineer, you will be accountable for ensuring that the products you design meet the established specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and Documentation: Specify and document new product requirements, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Product Development: Work within and adhere to the Bridon Product Development System (BPDS) to guide the design process.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Perform DFM analysis and work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production.
- Testing and Analysis: Design, execute, and document testing of products from concept to pilot phases, including returns analysis.
- Project Management: Manage projects within BPDS to ensure that design gates are met on time and in line with project schedules.
- Collaboration and Improvement: Assist with process improvement initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations.
Additionally, the Design Engineer may support production control activities, including:
- Technical Ownership: Oversee or coordinate production area systems such as calibration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Test Stand Design & Troubleshooting: Support the design and troubleshooting of test stands.
- Production Troubleshooting: Provide expertise in resolving production issues.
Up to 15% travel may be required for this role.
Qualifications:- General Understanding of Product Design: Solid grasp of product design and qualification processes.
- CAD Experience: Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, or similar systems).
- FEA & Simulation Knowledge: Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation techniques.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to independently organize, complete, and document project tasks.
- Testing Experience: Proven experience in designing, executing, and documenting tests.
- Project Management Skills: Familiarity with project management principles and tools.
Salary : $67,000 - $130,000
