What are the responsibilities and job description for the Officer, Prospect Strategy position at Brigham and Women's Hospital?
Reporting to the Senior Director of Prospect Management and Identification, the Officer, Prospect Strategy, will screen, identify, and analyze new potential hospital supporters. The Officer will proactively expand the pool of potential prospects by evaluating screening results and other data sources. In addition to identifying new prospects, the Officer will prepare prospect screenings, manage the assignment and tracking of new prospects to gift officers, and coordinate related data entry in our fundraising database. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully combine an analytical approach with effective communication skills.
* Use CRM database and wealth screening tools to identify new prospect leads for all frontline fundraising teams with a primary prospecting focus on Major Gifts and Leadership Giving. Evaluate screening results to improve data quality.
* Use external vendor tools (e.g. LexisNexis, iWave, and RelSci) to assign preliminary rating recommendations and complete research screenings on identified prospects.
* Monitor gift officer portfolio health and make strategic assignment recommendations based on institutional priorities, beat alignment, and gift officer portfolio size.
* Communicate prospect assignments to gift officers and monitor progress toward outreach and qualification metrics, using dashboard and reporting tools.
* Complete accurate and timely updates of information maintained in CRM as it relates to biographical, relationship, contact, and prospect management data. Identify strategies to improve data integrity and database health.
* Assist with the training of Development office staff as it relates to prospect identification policies and procedures.
* Work with the Senior Director of Prospect ID/Management to evaluate current processes and recommend ways to develop and implement updated policies and procedures. Manage the planning and implementation of comprehensive, proactive prospect identification and management of potential prospects.

- A minimum of 3 years prospect research/data analysis experience in Development or a related field.
- Critical thinking skills - both related to evaluating prospect capacity and connection and to improving internal processes with a high level of efficiency and meticulousness.
- Proficiency with a broad range of research techniques, including asset evaluation and confirmation, data modeling, assigning capacity ratings, and the use of other appropriate sources and methods.
- Proven ability to analyze and synthesize high volumes of information, using data in a strategic way.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while providing accurate, high-quality information under tight target dates.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. Ability to build strong collaborative relationships across the Development office.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a complex, sophisticated organization.
- Experience with Blackbaud CRM and Blackbaud's WealthPoint screening tool or other sophisticated CRM database.

"This position follows a hybrid work schedule. Team members are required to work on-site in our office a minimum of six (6) days per month."
