IS Programmer Analyst I Bioinformatics Analyst BWH Rheumatology

The Hoover Lab at Brigham & Women's Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School is seeking a motivated and talented bioinformatics analyst to join our team. This role focuses on analyzing single-cell and spatial genomics datasets, along with other functional genomic data, to understand the underlying mechanisms of inflammation and tissue damage in autoimmune diseases. As part of the Division of Rheumatology, Inflammation, and Immunity within the Department of Medicine, the Hoover Lab provides a rich intellectual environment, featuring collaboration with experts in both computational biology and immunology. The ideal candidate will have a solid computational background and strong interest in discovering insights from biological datasets. The position offers an exceptional opportunity to develop and apply expertise in statistical methods, algorithms, data analysis, and bioinformatics tools, within an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities : Develop and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for comprehensive data analysis.Perform data analysis using advanced statistical and computational techniques.Conduct literature reviews and assist in preparing presentations and manuscripts for publication.Collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI) and lab members to refine existing analysis approaches and develop new methods.Undertake other related duties as needed.Qualifications : Bachelor's degree with substantial coursework in computer science, statistics, or a related field.Skills and Competencies : Strong proficiency in computer programming and data analysis.Expertise in scripting languages such as R, Python, or equivalent.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Capacity to effectively convey ideas and research findings.#J-18808-Ljbffr
