What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nezami Co-op Student position at Brigham and Women's Hospital?
We are looking for an ambitious Master's student eager to embark on an innovative journey with us. Together, we aim to revolutionize the way raw medical data is handled by developing an automated system. This system will seamlessly preprocess the data, ensuring it's primed for a myriad of medical image processing tasks as well as deep learning endeavors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of medical imaging modalities and develop cutting-edge techniques for data preprocessing, including investigating and implementing state-of-the-art algorithms for image denoising, enhancement, and normalization, developing automated tools for data quality assessment and artifact detection, implementing data augmentation techniques to increase the robustness and generalizability of deep learning models, integrating the preprocessing pipeline with our existing deep learning frameworks and medical image processing software, and conducting comprehensive experiments to evaluate the impact of preprocessing on the performance of downstream tasks. By developing an automated preprocessing pipeline, the co-op student will contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our research, ultimately paving the way for more accurate and effective AI-powered medical applications. This project offers an excellent opportunity for the student to gain hands-on experience in medical image processing, deep learning, and software development while working alongside a team of experts in the field. It will also provide indispensable opportunity for engineering students to understand the intricacy of working with real clinical data and being trained on how to translate AI tools from desk to bedside.
