What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Nurse Cardiac Rehab 16 Hrs Foxboro BWH position at Brigham and Women's Hospital?
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration inMassachusetts.
Bachelor's Degree in nursing required. Master's degree in nursing preferred.
Experience:
1. Current and 5 or more years of Cardiac Rehab experience required.
2. Current and extensive direct care experience with demonstrated knowledge and skills in clinical cardiovascular nursing required.
3. Current experience managing groups and providing formal (classroom) patient education required.
4. Current ACLS certification required.
5. Current working knowledge of LSI patient monitoring hardware and software required.
6. Must be available and flexible to work either 8 or 10 hour shifts Mon-Fri 7AM to 6 PM as directed by nursing leadership according to clinical and staffing needs.
7. Membership in professional organizations is recommended.
Skills and Abilities Required
Possesses (or previously demonstrated) analytical abilities necessary to organize work of others; to administer policies, procedures, and utilize current concepts of nursing practice.
Possesses (or previously demonstrated) interpersonal skills sufficient to provide effective leadership for assigned staff and to interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and a variety of hospital departments.
Ability to deal with frequent stress due to critical issues relating to patient care, changing organizational climate and personnel issues.
Knowledgeable about current issues in delivery of ambulatory care such as managed care and capitation.
Familiarity with computerized scheduling, medical records, and financial systems.
Ability to be self-directive and demonstrate initiative in addressing responsibilities of position.
Ability to utilize appropriate problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Working knowledge of principles of adult learning and ability to educate patients in agroup setting.
Working Conditions
Works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable disease, and hazardous materials.
