What are the responsibilities and job description for the Perioperative Nurse - Full Time position at Brigham City Community Hospital?
The perioperative nurse is a registered nurse who, using the nursing process, designs, coordinates, and delivers care to meet the identified needs of patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised because they are having operative or other invasive procedures.
- Maintains a current Utah Registered Nurse (RN) license. Compact license accepted.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days of hire.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification within 90 days of hire.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Proficient oral and written communication skills.
One year of experience required, two years preferred. Ability to practice nursing as described by the following definition:
- The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations.
- Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care including but no limited to administering treatments and medication, interpreting diagnostic tests, formulating a plan of care, collaborating with other health care providers, and providing education to patients and/or significant others.
MATH computational skills of dosage calculations. The successful candidate will be required to pass competencies for this position.
