Accounting Specialist
What You Will Be Doing In This Position
Accounting Specialist supports accounting activities by performing daily deposits and daily journal entries. Also receive 3rd party insurance payments, and apply charges, payments and adjustments to student/patient accounts. Provides general customer service related to accounting. Typically provides support on routine processes, reports, and basic accounting needs.
Education/Experience
What qualifies you for this position:
Minimum required: High School Diploma or GED, 1 -2 years medical clerical and/or book-keeping
Preferred: Associates’ Degree or equivalent work experience or certification in medical billing, Certified Medical Biller, 3-4 years medical billing or income accounting
Skills, Abilities, Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications
Accounting knowledge; account coding; math skills; numerical accuracy; computer experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, medical software programs; accounts receivable entries; requires a general understanding of all medical diagnoses and procedures; working knowledge of ICD-10-CM (medical diagnoses billing codes) and CPT codes (medical billing procedures); medical terminology; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
