What You'll Do In This Position
BYU Law is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented person to keep our Admissions office running smoothly and efficiently. This position assists the Assistant Dean of Admissions, Director of Admissions, and Admissions Coordinator with student relations and admissions processes and also performs office and secretarial duties. This is a great opportunity to get involved with projects at the Law School and provide general administrative support.

This is a great opportunity to get involved with projects at the Law School and provide general administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with prospective students via telephone, e-mail, or in person, and answer questions about the BYU Law School application and admissions processes (the successful applicant will be trained on the relevant information)
- Act as the first contact point for BYU Law School, greeting students, applicants, and in-person guests of the law school
- Direct visitors to the appropriate locations within the law school
- Provide visitors with guidance on how to contact the appropriate law school representative depending on the visitors’ needs
- Maintain database and all data entry relating to BYU Law School applicants
- Assist with file management of BYU Law School applicant pool
- Assist with Law School recruiting events, boxing and mailing promotional materials to admitted students
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Typing, filing, on-line calendaring, sending mailings, running errands
Required
- One year of administrative, assistant, or professional experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Pleasant and professional demeanor
- Be punctual
- A self-starter
- Work well with faculty, staff, students and the general public
- Dependability in carrying through projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to work with minimal assistance in an environment that is prone to heavy seasonal workload, and to do so with thoroughness and a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent data entry skills are required, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, G-Suite products, and Excel.
- Ability to work with design programs such as Photoshop or Publisher is a huge plus.
- Ability to learn other computer database applications.
- Bachelor's degree AND one or more years of related experience
