Job Title: Family History DPAA Fellow - Adjunct Faculty - Research

Required Degree: BA/BS required, MA preferred.
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience: AG or CG required (please specify which credential on your resume/CV). Several years of research also preferred.
Duties/Expectations:
- Work with BYU student employees of the Center for Family History and Genealogy, including assigning and mentoring their research on POW/MIA cases.
- Work with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) on active cases, provide historical research relating to missing military personnel and genealogical research and contact information for living next-of-kin to help DPAA efforts to identify the remains of missing military service personnel.
- Work with the DPAA and BYU staff to develop strategies for finding descendants of missing veterans throughout the United States (and elsewhere if necessary).
- Complete necessary maintenance tasks, correspondence, and record-keeping duties in a timely and orderly fashion.
- Contact and schedule visits with interview candidates as necessary.
- Research and follow up on leads with family members and descendants of the deceased.
- Conduct research in the historical record to expand and confirm detailed information for active POW/MIA cases.
This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
