Office Specialist III
Join the Department of Linguistics at BYU, where you will play a key role in supporting faculty and students in a dynamic and engaging academic environment. In this position, you will be working with our faculty and students as we implement the mission and aims of BYU in the best of environments. Our Linguistics faculty and staff are committed to the success of all students, and you will help by modeling excellent work ethic and job skills, whether you’re planning fun activities or reconciling expenses. This position involves assisting with student employment processes, coordinating department purchases, planning events, and providing general administrative support. As part of our team, you will help foster a welcoming and organized space for students and faculty alike.

Job Description
Office Specialist III

What You’ll Do In This Position:
- Submit hiring documents for student employees as requested by faculty
- Assist students
- Reconcile department purchases by preparing expense reports
- Plan events with our student secretaries
- Issue scholarships to students as requested
- Assist student secretaries in preparing the Faculty Publication Board
- Assist in hiring decisions of student employees as requested
- Prepare materials and supplies for recruiting events, fairs, orientations
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Associate’s Degree and 2 years of relevant office experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant office experience
- Ability to work with others in a positive and friendly manner
- Organization skills and attention to detail
