Bright Beginnings Academy is a nurturing and innovative child care center dedicated to providing a safe, enriching, and engaging environment for young learners. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Director to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will support the Director in managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and fostering a positive learning environment for both children and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties

  • Assist the Director in overseeing the daily operations of the center.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, staff hours, and center activities.
  • Coordinate with the Director to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Manage enrollment processes and maintain up-to-date waiting lists.

Staff Management

  • Support in recruiting, training, and supervising qualified staff members.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment through effective communication and team-building activities.

Child Development and Curriculum

  • Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational programs and activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make necessary adjustments.
  • Work with teachers to ensure individual child development plans are followed.

Parent and Community Relations

  • Act as a liaison between parents and the child care center, addressing concerns and providing updates on child progress and center activities.
  • Organize and lead community outreach programs and events.
  • Promote the center’s mission and values to parents and the community.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure that the center operates in compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and emergency drills.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a child care setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and child care management software.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certified; Director’s Credential preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,750.00 - $49,281.00 per year
