We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Director to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will support the Director in managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and fostering a positive learning environment for both children and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Duties
- Assist the Director in overseeing the daily operations of the center.
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, staff hours, and center activities.
- Coordinate with the Director to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Manage enrollment processes and maintain up-to-date waiting lists.
Staff Management
- Support in recruiting, training, and supervising qualified staff members.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment through effective communication and team-building activities.
Child Development and Curriculum
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational programs and activities.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make necessary adjustments.
- Work with teachers to ensure individual child development plans are followed.
Parent and Community Relations
- Act as a liaison between parents and the child care center, addressing concerns and providing updates on child progress and center activities.
- Organize and lead community outreach programs and events.
- Promote the center’s mission and values to parents and the community.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure that the center operates in compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety checks and emergency drills.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a child care setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and child care management software.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certified; Director’s Credential preferred.
