Job Summary : The Deputy Contract Director is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations of the Mail Processing Center (MPC). This role ensures compliance with client specifications, supervises staff, and maintains the highest quality standards in the preparation and distribution of materials. The Deputy Contract Director works closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors to deliver efficient, accurate, and timely services. Schedule, Benefits, & Compensation : On-Site, First shift, Monday through Friday - 40 hours per week Location : Onsite in Landover, MD Salary : $75,000 to $80,000 annually Minimum Qualifications : At least 3 years experience working in mail processing or similar environment At least 3 year of leadership experience, including supervision of employees, project management, and training. Must have or be able to obtain a TOP Secret Security Clearance. Candidates with a current TS Clearance are strongly preferred. Responsibilities Maintains a Top-Secret security clearance. Oversee the daily operations of MPC (Mail Processing Center). The MPC is responsible for DOJ’s central mail process, which includes the primary mail sort and secure screening of incoming courier mail. Maintains current knowledge of U.S. Postal Service regulations. Perform all management and coordinating functions as assigned by the Contract Director (CD). Maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and other time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling. Initiate replenishment actions for expendable supplies furnished by the Government as well as consumables and supplies furnished by Bright Key Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output. Ensure that daily maintenance on equipment is performed, and vendor maintenance is coordinated and completed as required. Act as a team leader in the work of all Bright Key personnel to ensure compliance with safety, conduct, and performance standards, operating procedures, and all other requirements as stated within the MPC SOP, DOJ MMW&R Support Services contract, Bright Key guidebooks, and supporting vendor manuals. Prepares month end packets for the President of BrightKey, the Finance Department, and the Administration Office Manager. Plan and Attend meetings with team members, periodically with Contract Directors (CD) and program managers as requested. Assist in data gathering for various productivity reports, and conduct internal surveys as directed. Follow all safety rules and regulations as well as housekeeping policy to ensure an orderly and safe working environment. Skills / Experience Knowledge of U.S. Postal Service regulations; accurate data entry skills. Previous experience in a mail processing environment required. Effective verbal communication skills. Ability to work under deadline pressure and adjust to changing environment. Ability to deal with clients, customers, and co-workers courteously and effectively.
