Position Purpose:
Process vendor invoices timely and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices; review invoices for compliance with company purchasing and cash disbursement policies and procedures; notify management of any deviations found
- Process payment of approved invoices including coding, entering into the Accounts Payable module, posting entries, and matching checks with vouchers for management approval
- Handle vendor payment inquiries as required
- Reconcile open accounts payable with the general ledger and other accounts as directed by management
- Audit AP utility spreadsheet to ensure utility bills that are no longer required are not being paid
- Prepare accruals on expenses incurred but not paid for monthly account close
- Administrative functions such as filing and mailing checks
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with computerized accounts payable software; experience using Microsoft Excel
- Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Professional and polite demeanor
- Highly accurate and detail-oriented
- Able to develop and maintain positive and cooperative professional relationships
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using JDE
