Job Description
The director will be responsible for managing and creating direction for the agency, providing support for the IDD individuals through the manager, maintaining assigned programs, and implementing Individual Service Plans.
- Provides support and assists Program managers in meeting their goals as they manage Direct Support Professionals and Caregivers.
- Provides leadership and serves as an advocate to ensure appropriate treatment, teaching, and protection of rights of the persons served.
- Develop a schedule of engaging and educational activities that enhance the experience of the individuals we support, including monthly evening and weekend community activity options.
- Programmatic coordination, monitoring, and caseload file maintenance in accordance with Service Plans, agency guidelines, and in compliance with state IDD rules and regulations.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train and retain qualified Staff.
- Administer performance evaluations to employees. Address concerns with employees and implement progressive disciplinary action, when necessary.
- Monitor the condition of the facility and related follow-up with maintenance to ensure the building is maintained per agency guidelines and in compliance with IDD rules and regulations.
- Review and approval of attendance/billing information, working closely with Billing Coordinator to ensure that billable units are tracked are not over/under utilized.
- Timely completion and submission of monthly paperwork and reports.
- Plans, analyzes, coordinates, and implements community-based ID programs.
- Establishes overall service standards for quality and service proficiency.
- Directs or develops agency budgets, programs, and sub-contracting procedures.
- Analyzes and evaluates ID program plans and operations, and develops policies and procedures for improved delivery of services.
- Represents the agency at meetings with advisory boards of various agencies, community organizations, task forces, committees, ad hoc community groups, and federal, state, and county officials.
- Supports the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values, and ensure that individuals are treated with the utmost respect.

Salary Range
From $50,000 per year depending on experience.
License and Education
- Bachelor's degree and three-five (3-5 ) years of comparable work experience
- Proven supervisory and leadership experience, ability to develop and motivate a team of 10 .
- Good at planning and coordinating activities.
- Good business communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
- Ability to work productively with others and adapt well to change. Receive and respond positively to feedback from others.
- Basic understanding and experience with DOL standards.
- Willingness to travel for monitoring and meetings as required.
- Be able to prioritize job duties and work as a member of the team.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to meet driving standards, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must hold First Aid/CPR certification (or should be able to get this within 2 months of hire).
- Must be able to assist with a two person lift of an adult
- Must be able to do frequent bending and lifting
- Must be able to stand for eight (5) hours at a time.
Essential Job Functions:
- Review, interview, prepare and approve new residential host home providers.
- Provide continuous monitoring of the residential providers to ensure safety and health, and that they are adhering to the policy and procedure
- Ensure PCAs are properly staffed at all times and covering gaps as needed.
- Facilitates the planning, development, and implementation of person-centered plans; develops individuals' goals and outcomes with people supported; coordinates and participates in individual plan meetings; monitors, documents, and reports progress toward meeting outcomes; ensures the supports needed are in place to meet outcomes; coordinates communications with other service agencies to ensure individual outcomes are met.
- Ensures opportunities to build social capital are planned and occur; assist each individual in creating natural support networks.
- Manages personnel by interviewing, hiring, evaluating, supervising, and helping to develop the most qualified individuals to work as direct support professionals.
- Ensures timecards and payroll procedures are followed.
- Provides effective and efficient scheduling of staff to meet the needs and goals of individuals supported.
- Ensures current state licensing and certification rules and regulations, accreditation requirements and agency policies and procedures are followed.
- Monitors physical upkeep of the service site, vehicles, and personal property; takes action to correct any concerns.
- Coordinate, implement, and participate in direct support professional staff training and in-services by orienting new staff, scheduling staff for trainings, and maintaining training records.
- Represent the organization and its mission by educating community members about the critical importance of integrating individuals supported into community life.
- Manages and implement program budgets; provides input for budget development; ensures programs stay within allocated budget, follow policies and procedures for procurement.
- Ensures financial records are complete, thorough, and submitted in a timely manner.
