Overview
Brighton Cooperative Preschool is expanding and looking for 2 new teachers for the 25/26 school year! BCP is offers a wonderful work environment with a parent helper each class to assist with cleaning and daily tasks in addition to paid planning time. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role is essential in shaping the early educational experiences of our students, ensuring they are prepared for future learning opportunities. Candidates must have a Bachelors, Associates or CDA in Early Childhood education or be in the process of earning one. We are looking for someone that can commit to 1-2 days a week this year as an assistant prior to becoming a lead next year.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing individualized support as needed.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative educational experience.
- Incorporate physical education activities to enhance children's motor skills and overall health.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in preschool education.
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
- Proficient in classroom management techniques to create a structured learning environment.
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and GSRP is a plus.
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively.
- Experience in providing additional support to students as needed.
- First aid and CPR certified.
