Overview : The Payroll Accountant is responsible for processing payroll and related accounting activities. They may also assist the HR Manager with administrative and operational tasks as needed.
Major Responsibilities :
Payroll Accounting & Benefits :
- Process bi-monthly payrolls, periodic bonuses, and one-off payrolls as needed.
- Collaborate with Paylocity to review and process monthly and quarterly payroll taxes.
- Coordinate with Paylocity to process annual W-2s and 1099s as required.
- Manage, process, and reconcile benefits (e.g., 401k, HSA, FSA) and health insurance accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries and accruals; reconcile bank accounts and sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Oversee and manage workers' compensation reporting and audits.
- Ensure compliance with current government regulations.
- Assist the Controller with additional accounting functions as required.
