Job Summary
The Catering Sales Director or Senior will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, establishing a $5 million sales pipeline, and fostering industry and corporate partnerships. This role requires a proactive leader with strong networking skills, sales expertise, and the ability to manage and inspire a high-performing sales team. Additionally, the Catering Sales Director will work closely with executive leadership to support business objectives and special projects as directed.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive revenue and expand market reach.
• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, including corporate clients, event planners, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Carry and grow a personal book of business to contribute directly to company sales goals.
• Actively represent Industry Catering within the Kansas City Metro community and at industry events.
• Maintain a strong pipeline, working toward a $5M revenue target.
• Negotiate and close high-value catering contracts, ensuring profitability and long-term client retention.
Leadership & Team Management
• Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing sales team.
• Set and track key performance metrics, ensuring accountability and continued growth.
• Foster a results-driven, client-focused culture within the sales team.
Operations & Client Experience
• Work closely with operations and culinary teams to ensure flawless execution of events.
• Oversee forecasting, reporting, and business performance metrics to optimize profitability.
• Ensure a seamless and consistent client experience from inquiry to execution.
Strategic Leadership & Business Support
• Collaborate with executive leadership to support business growth initiatives.
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance company performance.
• Assist in special projects and business objectives as directed by executive leadership.
Qualifications
• Proven track record in catering, hospitality, or event sales, with experience leading a sales team.
• Established industry network in the Kansas City Metro with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to forecast revenue and develop data-driven sales strategies.
