Job Description:

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Ability to design custom automated systems for various environments from the ground up while operating within cost and labor constraints.
• Collaborate with Applications Engineering team, Sales, and others to establish plan for project feasibility and direction to success.
• Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical systems and components for integrated solutions, ensuring compatibility with project requirements and specifications.
• Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed designs, drawings, and models of mechanical components, assemblies, and structures.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and design reviews to evaluate the viability and effectiveness of proposed mechanical solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, shop technicians and project managers, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to convey technical requirements, project timelines, and design considerations.
• Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or 10 years of relevant field experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on machine/ system design, development, and integration.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and occasional use of simulation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Master’s degree in Business Administration, or other advanced degree
• 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on machine/ system design, development, and integration.
• Experience working in a custom automation integrator or machine builder environment
• Experience mentoring or managing junior engineers within team to grow and develop talent within an organization.
