Head Counselor
Full Job Description
Malvern Day Camp (MDC) Head Camp Counselor is responsible for the supervision of the campers, promoting and actively participating in all summer camp activities, providing a safe and fun learning environment, and serving as a positive role model for campers.
The hours of this full-time, seasonal position are from 8:30am-4:30pm*, Monday through Friday. Malvern Day Camp runs from May 19th to mid August 2025. There will be mandatory training dates before camp begins.

Head Counselors are employed in one of the following camps:
Mini Camp: 5-6 year olds
Junior Camp: 7-9 year olds
Senior Camp: 10-12 year olds
Counselors in Training: 13-14 year olds
Requirements

Previous experience working in a day camp setting (preferred)

Previous experience working with children; examples include, but are not limited to: camp counselor, tutoring, youth volunteer, or classroom assistant if no prior camp experience

Follow the Malvern Day Camp policies and procedures

Minimum of 18 years of age
Required upon hire

Completed Background Checks (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal, NSOR)

Willingness to complete additional training (Mandated reporting, First Aid/CPR, Water Safety, etc.)
