Job Description: Program Supervisor
Reports to: Manager of IDD Services
Job Summary
Working as a Program Supervisor (PS) in a residential (group home) setting you will be responsible for helping adults ages 18 and older who have intellectual disabilities or mental health diagnosis with daily functions that many take for granted, i.e. cooking/preparing meals, assisting in cleaning, group activities, taking them out into the community etc. Additionally, you will serve as the supervisor of the Direct Support Professionals at your assigned program. You will oversee all aspects of the program.
General Accountabilities
· Ability to support individuals by providing assistance and training in all areas of daily living
· General understanding of different mental health/ intellectual disability diagnoses
· Participation in the Individual Support planning process
· Ensuring clients are in good health and maintaining their hygiene
· Teaching safety precautions in the home and in community integration
· Addressing needs of the individual by communicating with the Manager of IDD services and Executive Director when needed.
· Support and assist individuals in maintaining their home (cooking meals/cleaning)
· Medication administration/monitoring
· Comply with all Waiver requirements
· Completes all required trainings including Front Line Supervisor Training. Becoming certified as a Front Line Supervisor by the NADSP.
· Comply with program Incident Management, risk Management and quality management policies.
· Complete new hire orientation, track educational requirements of DSP to ensure compliance with regulations.
· Manage the budget of the program.
· Ensure that the Program has what it needs to function in a therapeutic function daily.
· Assist the Manager of IDD services in completion of billing. Ensure Payroll hours are approved weekly and are accurate.
Job Qualifications
· 18 years of age or older, Minimum high school diploma or GED and 6 months experience working with adults with diminished mental capacity i.e. Intellectual Disabilities, Mental Health Diagnoses, Dementia, Alzheimer's OR an Associate degree in Human services related field (experience with population preferred)
· A valid driver's license
