We are seeking a motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team. This role is critical in driving operational excellence through the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, production planning, and supply chain processes, with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Tableau. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.
This role will have multi-site responsibilities between our Lisbon, Ohio and Sherburne, NY facilities. Willingness to travel 25% of the time is required.
Duties
- Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyze current processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement in inventory control, production planning, and supply chain management.
- Implement Lean manufacturing methodologies to streamline operations and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with various departments to develop and execute process improvement initiatives.
- Utilize data analysis tools such as Tableau to monitor performance metrics and track progress on improvement projects.
- Facilitate training sessions for staff on Lean principles and best practices in process improvement.
- Develop systems for effective inventory management and control to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to align inventory levels with production needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a continuous improvement role or similar position within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Experience working in Pet Food Manufacturing, extrusion facility or food production facility a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
- Experience with inventory control processes and systems.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau for reporting and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about complex issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Familiarity with production planning processes and supply chain dynamics is preferred.
- A degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
