Job Overview
BrightStar Care is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will help implement treatment plans designed to improve patient mobility, strength, coordination, and overall quality of life. Care is provided in a variety of settings, including patient homes and facilities throughout Greater Chester County.
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you are responsible for:
- Carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assisting patients with exercises, mobility training, and other therapeutic interventions
- Monitoring patient progress and reporting outcomes to the Physical Therapist
- Providing patient and family education regarding home exercise programs
- Documenting services provided and patient response in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring safe and effective therapy by using proper body mechanics and patient-handling techniques
- Maintaining communication with supervising PT, other healthcare team members, and families
- Traveling to patient homes or facilities throughout Greater Chester County and surrounding areas as needed
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
- Current state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Pennsylvania
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience preferred, especially in a home health or clinical setting
- Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and patient care techniques
- Ability to work independently while following a treatment plan developed by a licensed PT
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs as required by patient needs
- Willingness to travel within the Greater Chester County area (travel time and mileage negotiated per case)
- Comply with HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality
