- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all billing activities.
- Submit all initial claims for service in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner ensuring appropriate reimbursement amounts.
- Resolve problem accounts and payer denials, submit corrected claims, and follow-up on any claims that require a payer response.
- Responsible for the billing and collection of payments for the company, counseling offices, and off-site employed and/or contracted providers.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Out-Patient Mental Health billing codes, modifiers, and payer requirements and restrictions.
- Participate in payer audits.
- Act as liaison between clients and clinicians as it pertains to insurance or billing issues when needed.
- Demonstrate professional behavior, appropriate work ethic, cooperation, and teamwork.
- May perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned.
- Proven experience in medical billing.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in billing/e-billing, preferably in a multi-provider practice/hospital/mental health office.
- Location: REMOTE! Priority will be given to applicants from Central Oregon.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy standards and regulations.
- Serve as a professional representative for the company and employees.

- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply mathematical concepts when computing, reconciling balances, verifying numerical data, processing complex client billing, preparing various billing reports, reconciling appropriation of account funds, and processing write-offs.
- Collaboration and team functioning - able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Able to work effectively in an organizational setting and understand how to utilize the chain of command to resolve problems.
- Efficiency and time management skills.
- Maintain confidentiality requirements regarding patients and employees.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public, and to remain calm under stress.
- Ability to operate office equipment and various software and computer programs (Google, SharePoint, Microsoft, EMR/EHR).
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- A background check will be performed on all hires, post-offer. Employment is contingent upon passing this check.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation starts at $23.00 per hour, with an increase upon satisfactory review (first review within the first 90 days). 5% pay incentive for Bi-lingual-Spanish.
- (4) weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year, pro-rated amount based on hire date.
