JOB SUMMARY:The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) establishes and implements standards in the Quality Management System (QMS). The QAM also ensures the standards are updated, maintained and followed. The scope of this position includes all three plants of Brilex Industries, Inc.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Leads the development, writing, training, and implementation of procedures to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
· Communicates quality standards and parameters to Quality team, Estimating, Project Management, Production and other appropriate staff.
· Stays current on AISC, ASME and ISO requirements and ensures compliance.
o Update manuals and supporting procedures
· Assists with internal process audits to determine the effectiveness of the QMS
· Assist activities related to root cause and corrective action analysis to ensure they align with the QMS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· 10 years Quality experience (2-year or 4-year degree may substitute experience)
· Developing and implementing standards for at least one of the following
o ISO 9001
o AISC BU Certification and CPT endorsement
o ASME BPVC
· Training other employees on quality procedures
· Ability to understand and interpret manufacturing code quality documentation and criteria
· Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience reading and interpreting customer blueprints and specification documentation
· Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME BPVC, and/or NAVSEA fabrication, welding, and inspection code
· ASME U-Stamp QMS experience
· ISO 9001 QMS experience
· AISC QMS experience
· Experience with weld program quality control and PQR/WPQ/WPS documentation
· Experience in mechanical drawing and GD&T interpretation and understanding of machining
· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
· American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certification(s) – CQA, CQE
