Senior Property Accountant

Real Estate Accountant | Hybrid

A growing real estate firm is seeking a Real Estate Accountant to join its team in Minneapolis. This role plays a key part in managing the full-cycle accounting process for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements.
• Generate monthly accruals and adjust journal entries.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
• Conduct analytical reviews of the general ledger.
• Track capital projects, calculate useful lives, and manage asset transitions from work in progress to service.
• Prepare and file recurring sales tax (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
• Develop annual budgets, reforecasts, and year-end operating expense reconciliations.
• Support annual tax filings and financial audits.
• Research and resolve accounting issues to minimize risks.
• Adhere to internal accounting policies and reporting requirements.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong background in financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliation.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, or JDE E1 software.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

• Salary range: $75,000 – $100,000 Bonus
