The Senior Associate, Capital Markets will assist the global BREDS capital markets team in the oversight and management of the liability side of the BREDS investment portfolio. The hire will help manage the sourcing, structuring, negotiation, closing and ongoing management of a variety of financing transactions, including credit facilities, loan-on-loan, loan syndications, and securitizations. This external-facing role requires interaction with existing and potential financing counterparties and demands a proactive approach in managing tasks such as soliciting financing quotes, drafting and negotiating term sheets, negotiating legal documentation, closing and ongoing management of financings, and various tracking and reporting of BREDS’ liabilities.

What You Will Do
- Acquire deep knowledge of the US loan financing markets and support the BREDS capital markets team in developing and executing financing strategies for BREDS’ pipeline of loan originations
- Maintain strong relationships with BREDS’ existing financing counterparties, and develop relationships with potential new financing counterparties
- Assist in the sourcing of financing quotes for a variety of financing executions, including loan syndications and credit facility pledging, through managing a coordinated outreach effort to banks and other financing counterparties, following up as necessary, and tracking and evaluating all feedback received
- Manage the preparation of materials used to market transactions
- Assist in the negotiation of financing terms and transactions in coordination with BREDS capital markets and external counsel
- Assist in the execution and closing of transactions, including drafting term sheets and Confirmation Statements, providing diligence materials to financing counterparties, and coordinating closing and funding logistics
- Ongoing management of transactions, including identifying and managing positions that require refinancing or amending, coordinating discussions with lenders prior to issues arising, and analyzing financing documents to ensure accurate implementation
- Help improve our processes and tools to create efficient storage and access to financing data, generating and maintaining regular ongoing reporting and tracking of financing pipelines and activity, terms, and counterparty exposures
- Coordinate across BREDS and BRIO investment, asset management, finance, operations and legal teams in executing the above responsibilities
- Undergraduate Degree
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience (excluding internships / training) in real estate finance, real estate capital markets or related fields
- Ability to project manage and execute a wide range of assignments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team, maintaining always a collaborative approach
- Strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to meet competing deadlines.
- Self-starter, highly organized, and detail oriented.
- Ability to juggle multiple workstreams and priorities
- Experience in executing mortgage/mezz balance sheet, loan syndications, credit facilities, CMBS and/or loan pool financings
- In depth knowledge of key finance documents
- Strong analytical aptitude and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Interest and experience in using new technologies to optimize processes
- High level of integrity and professional conduct
- Strong math and Excel proficiency
