Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in a Level I Trauma Center environment. This position requires expertise in various clinical practices, including discharge planning, utilization management, and medication administration. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations to determine health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and follow-up care.
- Administer medications and perform necessary procedures, including catheter care.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Manage durable medical equipment (DME) needs for patients as required.
- Ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws during patient evaluations and treatments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate effective utilization management.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests to guide treatment decisions.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalent experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with board certification.
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center is preferred.
- Proficiency in discharge planning, utilization management, catheter care, and medication administration.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding systems and durable medical equipment (DME).
- Knowledge of workers' compensation law is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
