Men’s Services Coordinator-Caseworker IV
OBJECTIVE: Coordinate the Tribal Men’s Services program to provide culturally appropriate services and casework to help meet the needs of individual male victims to successfully recover from their victimization.

License/Certification: Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of the Alaska Barrier Crimes regulations as a prerequisite to hiring and continued employment. Requires background check including fingerprints. Current valid Alaska Driver’s License and personal liability insurance, if using own vehicle.
Education and or experience which demonstrates the following: Two years’ post-secondary education or two years’ work experience in social and human services, behavioral health, mental health, victim’s service, or related fields may substitute for education requirements. Demonstrated understanding of the challenges of male victims and strong interest in developing a support system to support male victims. Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and willing to learn. Ability to independently track multiple tasks and provide follow-through to meet timelines and funding requirements. Job requires enjoyment working with a wide range of people and backgrounds, and ability to demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills should include Windows, MS Office, Excel, and email/internet. Ability to learn data entry program for casework recordkeeping. Familiarity with Bristol Bay area, people, cultures, and economy. Must be willing/able to travel in & out of region.
CASEWORKER III
CASEWORKER IV
AA or specialized certificate or training and at least a year of casework experience or achieved 3 years of progressive casework experience. Ability to carry a full load of cases or nearly; 15-20 complex cases in victim services.
BA or 4 years progressive experience in field and supervisory experience. May be assigned mentoring and regional supervision of local caseworkers, specific complex case supervision.
Preferred: Familiarity with local and statewide resources and service delivery in rural, remote Alaska. Experience counseling, explaining complex policies, client rights and responsibilities; evaluating and coordinating services for client access; coordinating peer group meetings; applying statuses, regulations, program requirements or similar criteria or guidelines.

- Understanding and becoming proficient with program regulations, plans, policies and procedures.
- Understanding and becoming proficient with the Program goals and objectives.
- Applying federal, state, and/or local regulations in daily program activities by entering case management data into the software system and maintaining both electronic & hardcopy files of proper documentation of client services.
Provide direct client services
By
- Conducting initial screening and intake interviews and updating as changes occur for eligibility requirements.
- Communicating regularly with clients across the BB region including traveling to do in person contacts and outreach.
- Developing and updating Service Plans with each client in order to set and track clients’ goals toward such things and employment, housing, treatment, supportive services, etc. taking into consideration work history, skills, strengths, education and training, interests and current barriers.
- Making job and resource referrals, monitoring progress, determining need for supportive services, problem solving, offering support and encouragement, and monitoring progress.
- Helping clients get access to resources.
- Participating in case consultations with clients, restorative justice team and other organizations to determine the best needs and services for the client.
- Providing information to clients, community organizations and the public about the Tribal Men’s Services Program.
Coordinate by
- Under the direction of the Program Manager, develop an understanding of the project and implementing it.
- Coordinating all program meetings with staff and community services providers, and stakeholders.
- Working closely with the Program Manager to assist and empower community partners to successfully carry out coordinated tasks.
- Working with the Program Manager on planning, preparing and distributing outreach print media such as press releases, flyers, posters, and signs.
- Working with the Program Manager to conduct the community assessments.
- Providing coordination of Program goals, objectives, and activities.
- Planning and developing and/or gathering materials and providing culturally appropriate training to clients.
- Planning and developing and/or gathering training for staff, and other stakeholders regarding male victim services.
Build community and provider partnerships
by
- Building collaborative relationships with colleagues to promote cultural awareness with the Tribal Men’s Services Program.
- Participating effectively on community or region wide interagency councils, service integration efforts and other planning initiatives and developing formal / informal networks with a wide variety of individuals, community, and agency representatives.
- Working with other agencies, BBNA Departments, subject matter experts, and community leaders to integrate culture as part of a multi-faceted approach to continue the development and enhancement of a successful Tribal Men’s Services Program.
- Acting as a resource for information about the Tribal Men’s Service Program and other services clients may need such as labor market conditions, job training opportunities, job openings, vocational training and educational programs, and childcare services.
Keep Management Informed by
- Preparing comprehensive quarterly activities report and statistical reports to the Program Manager.
- Developing and maintaining a system for retrieving data and files.
- Working with supervisor and project partners to keep everyone informed of any needs and issues.
Monitor and Improve program and service quality
by
- Monitoring the program and suggesting areas for improvement.
- Participating and collaborating with planning teams and similar groups to improve overall effectiveness of the program.
Travel in and out of region
by
- Scheduling well planned trips to provide services, participate in training, workshops, and exchange current information significant to the program. This may require in and out of region travel.

WAGE: $27.43 to $41.15/hour ($53,489 – $80,243)
