Barista and Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items while providing exceptional customer service. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that every customer has a memorable experience at our café.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, as well as food items, in accordance with established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including the preparation area, dining area, and equipment.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer orders accurately.
• Engage with customers, taking their orders while providing recommendations based on their preferences.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards during food preparation and handling.
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of supplies and ingredients.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the food industry or café setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
• Must be able to handle food safely and maintain cleanliness throughout the café.
• A passion for coffee, tea, and providing excellent service is essential for this role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week
