Overview
A busy family of five in the West Village is seeking a part-time nanny to assist with their three children. The family has a 7-year-old daughter and 5-year-old twin boys. The schedule for this role is Monday through Thursday, 2-9pm, with some opportunities for additional babysitting hours if desired. The family has a team of nannies in place, and this position will supplement the busy after-school hours. The children are at two different schools and have different schedules, so this role will involve teamwork with the other nanny to manage the various locations and schedules. Duties for this role include after-school pick-up, transportation to extracurriculars, and assisting with dinner, bath, and bedtime routines. The nanny should feel comfortable with basic child-related tidying and organization, pitching in with children's laundry, and some basic children's meal preparation including packing lunches. The family is seeking a nanny who is playful and engaging with the children, and will get down on the floor with them. The family's full-time nanny leaves at 6:30, so candidates should feel comfortable finishing out the evening alone, handling wind down and bedtime as needed. The ideal candidate will be organized and proactive, warm and loving, with a strong work ethic. As the children are all now in school, a nanny with a background in education, who can assist with homework and do educational activities, would be a great plus.
The family travels several times per year (generally shorter trips during school holidays) and it would be a huge bonus if the nanny was able and willing to join them. The family does not relocate during the summer months. Multiples experience would also be great, but is not required. This position is offering a rate of $35-40/hr. DOE.
