JOB DESCRIPTION:
INSPECTOR
I. Position Overview:
Britt Aero Inspectors are responsible for the inspection and verification of product and material conformance to customer requirements. Through the use of precision measuring instruments and Coordinate-Measuring Machines (CMM), inspectors will perform a variety of inspections, including but not limited to: Surface Plate Lay-out Inspections, In-Process Inspections, Final Inspections, First Article Inspection, Visual Inspections, etc., to verify product conformance to customer drawings and specifications.
II. Responsibilities:
A. Perform inspections through the use of a CMM and/or other calibrated precision measuring instruments.
B. Interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans.
C. Decipher pertinent details from customer prints and specifications to maintain inspection reports and other quality documents as required.
D. Decipher and report quality abnormalities.
E. Aid in the identification, segregation, and documentation of non-conforming product as required.
F. Assist Quality and Process Engineers as necessary.
G. Set-up gages used to verify product conformance.
H. Recommend process improvement activities to enhance quality and customer satisfaction.
I. Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
III. Requirements:
A. Experience with machining, fabrication, welding, forming, and processing, specifically in the Aerospace Industry is strongly preferred.
B. Must demonstrate competency in reading detailed drawings with a strong understanding of GD&T, and specification interpretation.
C. Must have the ability to use and read precision measuring instruments, such as but not limited to: micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, indicators, etc.
D. Must possess fundamental mechanical and mathematical knowledge.
E. Must be result oriented and able to work in both an individual and team-oriented environment.
F. Must possess a high degree of organizational and communication skills.
