What will you be doing?
As the Corporate Chef at Brittain Resorts & Hotels, you will lead our culinary initiatives, ensuring exceptional dining experiences across all properties. Your role encompasses menu development, staff training, operational support, and special projects to uphold and enhance our brand standards. This role is on-site in the Grand Strand area of South Carolina.
Corporate Chef responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with designing and implementing innovative menus across multiple outlets that align with current culinary trends, seasonal availability, brand identity, and guest preferences.
- Ensure consistency and quality by providing on-site culinary leadership and operational support at various outlets as needed.
- Conduct training and development programs for Chefs and kitchen teams to maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and safety.
- Lead special projects focused on elevating guest experience, operational efficiency, and culinary innovation.
- Monitor food quality, safety, and presentation across all properties to ensure strict compliance with brand and regulatory standards.
- Assist with budgeting, food cost control, and labor management to achieve financial performance targets.
- Collaborate with vendors to source high-quality ingredients, maintain consistency, and negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety protocols (e.g., HACCP), health codes, and sanitation regulations across all culinary operations.
- Develop and standardize recipes and kitchen SOPs to drive consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the company.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging culinary techniques to keep offerings innovative and competitive.
- Support recruitment and retention efforts by helping to identify, interview, and mentor top culinary talent across the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse kitchen teams.
- Willingness to travel between properties and adapt to various culinary environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in innovative menu development, showcasing creativity in dish design and ingredient selection.
- Expertise in managing restaurant operations, including special events.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Financial proficiency in managing budgets, inventory, and cost controls, along with proficiency in office PC applications (e.g., spreadsheets, databases).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving guest issues and anticipating customer needs.
- Passion for delivering high-quality, innovative dishes and an outstanding guest experience.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Proven job reliability, diligence, and attention to detail.
