We are seeking a Credit Risk Manager to lead the acquisition risk strategy for a rapidly growing fintech company. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for optimizing credit policies, designing underwriting strategies, and using advanced analytics to drive profitable customer acquisition while maintaining high portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Acquisition Strategy & Credit Risk Management:
Develop and refine credit risk policies for new customer acquisitions across various loan and credit products. Design and implement data-driven underwriting strategies to balance risk with growth goals, leveraging machine learning models and advanced analytics for better decision-making.
Data Analytics & Risk Modeling:
Utilize alternative data sources and collaborate with data scientists to enhance underwriting efficiency. Conduct A/B testing on acquisition strategies to optimize approval rates and improve risk-adjusted returns. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as early delinquency rates, customer lifetime value, and approval rates.
Regulatory & Compliance:
Ensure that underwriting policies comply with industry regulations and work closely with legal teams to maintain adherence to fair lending practices. Monitor and respond to evolving regulatory risks related to non-prime lending.
What You’ll Need:
- At least 5 years of experience in credit risk, underwriting strategy, or acquisition analytics within fintech, consumer lending, or banking.
- Expertise in credit bureau data, alternative data sources, and risk modeling techniques. Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or SAS for data analysis and modeling. Knowledge of machine learning applications in credit risk is a plus.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in subprime or near-prime lending will make you stand out.
