Assistant Superintendent
Summary
The Assistant Superintendent assists and supports the field operations staff or may be the senior on-site role on a small project. This position is responsible for providing supervision and coordination of all field/job site operations including scheduling, safety, and quality control from start-up to completion/closeout. The Assistant Superintendent reports to the Superintendent and or Senior Superintendent whom he/she is currently assigned and may have Foreman direct reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years related commercial construction project work experience.
- Working knowledge of project planning and scheduling for construction trades (all disciplines).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software programs.
- Proven skills in the areas of math, as well as excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
- Strong reasoning and comprehension skills.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for an extended period of time and frequently stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel: and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move office equipment up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include viewing computer monitors. Some duties in this position are performed under periodically disagreeable working conditions of a jobsite including: working outside, at times in inclement weather; and exposure to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, and equipment noise and vibration. Most work is performed in an office environment during normal business hours.
