Brock & Sons Inc. is a full turn-key telecommunications contractor that specializes in fiber optic and coaxial cable construction. We are looking to add professional minded team members to our fiber splicing team. Candidates who are detail oriented and utilize communication skills to achieve a common goal will be successful in this position.
Responsibilities include:
-Loose tube fiber splicing in existing fiber plant and new build projects.
-Safely and efficiently manage time on fiber splicing projects.
-Maintaining inventory of materials, equipment, and tools.
-Documenting splice cases via audit sheets.
-Responsible for being on call every 6 weeks for 1 week intervals.
- Troubleshooting and testing new and existing fiber circuits. Using an OTDR to test continuity and loss on single mode fibers.
-Operation of bucket trucks with the ability to pull splicing trailers.
Time and Location:
- This position is Third Shift - 10pm- 6am
- Sunday 10pm - Thursday 6am
- Work is local to Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Dayton.
- Start and end location is in the Fairfield area.
- Full time position with overtime available.
- Work is year-round, not seasonal.
- Local work with no out of state travel.

Requirements:
- Experience with Spectrum fiber plant is preferred.
- Efficient in using single mode fiber splicer and OTDR equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of various Splitters, DWDM and CWDM fiber muxes.
- Comfortable working in various styles of splice enclosures. (Tyco, Coyote, etc.)
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks including working from ladders and lifting up to 50lbs.
- At least 2 years of outside plant fiber splicing is required.
- Valid driver license with no serious violations.
All tools are provided.
