SUBJECT: Automotive Technology Instructors (2)
Qualifications:
•74 Massachusetts DESE license in Automotive Technology or possess the following minimum requirements to obtain license.
•High School diploma or the equivalent.
•5 years of fulltime-employment experience directly related to Automotive Technology.
•Possession of a current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in at least 3 areas of Automotive Technology.
•Passing score of at least 70% on each test (written test performance test) in Automotive Technology. Usually within your fist
school year.
One of the following:
•Achieve a passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test.
•Achieve a passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills Test.
Responsibilities:
•Plan organize and provide appropriate learning experiences within assigned area of responsibilities.
•Teach technical skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in their field.
•Develop lesson plans and organize class time so that demonstration, instruction, hand-on practice, review and final activities
can be accomplished within the allotted time.
•Continuously improves the instruction, curriculum, and equipment so the CTVE area is current with all trends in the field is fully
and properly preparing students for available and emerging jobs.
•Creates a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the student’s maturity and interests of the
students.
•Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
•Guides the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear
objective for all lessons, units and projects to communicate these objectives to students.
•Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy regulation.
•Strives to maintain and improve professional competence especially as relates to the specific assignment and students grade
and subject area appropriateness.
•Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with others.
•Establishes and maintains open line of communication with students, colleagues, and parents concerning both broad
academic/vocational and behavioral progress of the assigned students.
•Other duties deemed necessary by the Superintendent/Director or designee.
