TO: Brockton High School Parents/CaregiversFROM: Dr. Kathleen F. Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSUBJECT : La Repuesta Parent Support Liaison - Search ExtendedBrockton High School is looking for an enthusiastic parents/caregiver from the Brockton High School community to work with students and staff to lead school-wide change. With a focus service, this parent engagement work is called La Repuesta (The Answer), emphasizing parent engagement, as a function of establishing parents as essential partners of the school.
Offered in partnership with The Equity Imperative (EI), La Respuesta is an initiative that enhances the partnership between schools, students, and families. Envisioned as a career development pipeline program, teams will engage with EI to co-design family engagement with district stakeholders to position family members to perform part-time duties within Brockton HS. The initiative aims to expose family members to various positions in the system that may be suitable for them to increase our recruitment efforts and increase their presence through other roles within a school setting. By increasing family support, school stability is strengthened; and school culture and climate can foster healing relationships.
Connections with families can be transformed into true partnerships in support of students.The La Repuesta Parent Support Liaisons will engage in formal initial stages school induction of the duties and responsibilities that they will perform over a six (6) week period. The Equity Imperative will work with the Parent Support Liaisons and school officials to ensure that each stakeholder has been properly orientated to the school and their respective duties to build stronger connections and ties to the school community. QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Parents/caregivers of current Brockton HS students2.Multilingual / Spanish speakers preferred3.Availability during the school day (15 hours per week)MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Performing the following duties: a.Hallway monitoringb.Lunchroom supervisionc.Office support 2.Attend volunteer trainings3.Meetings with supervisors4.Open communication with school staff, students, and The Equity Imperative Team5.Other duties identified by school administrationCOMPENSATION: $16/hourSOURCE OF FUNDING: Grant funded for six (6) part-time positions (15 hours per week for six (6) weeks)
