Description
Under the supervision of the HR Manager, this position will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department, payroll and book production operations.
- Assists with the day-to-day operations of HR, Payroll and Book production operation functions and duties.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR/Payroll files, records, and documentation.
- Maintains a filing system and ensure new hire/benefits forms are available.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of Human Resource/Payroll files and records.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees related to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Assist with recruiting by screening resumes and contacting candidates.
- Conducts/assists with new hire orientation and benefit orientation.
- Responsible for performing tasks and other duties of equal or lesser classification irrespective of required change in department, hours (including mandatory overtime) or work conditions as needed to support production needs.
- Promotes the maintenance of safe, clean and organized work areas.
- Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and/or equivalent required, associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year office, human resource experience.
- PC Proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft office suite (word, excel); ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and prioritize work assignments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with subordinates and management and to enforce and support Brodart rules, policies and standards of conduct.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Normal office environment, close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs. frequently. Standing and walking, lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
