BCHN is seeking a Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and provide leadership and vision for our team. This management role requires strong management, financial, and operational expertise to ensure efficiency, compliance, and outstanding patient experience for our new FCQH - Health Center in White Plains Road, Bronx.

Bronx Community Health Network (BCHN) was founded in 1996 to ensure that the socio-economically depressed and medically underserved residents of the Bronx have access to high-quality and comprehensive healthcare services, Bronx Community Health Network (BCHN) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization and Federally Qualified Health Center. The organization provides a wide range of comprehensive, coordinated primary medical, oral, and mental health care and related diagnostic, pharmacy, social support, and enabling services for medically underserved/uninsured residents.


BCHN’s mission is to improve the health of people and families in the Bronx; provide access to affordable, quality health care, especially for uninsured people; promote disease prevention, early treatment and healthful lifestyles; and obtain financial and other resources for programs and services. BCHN’s service area includes the entire borough of the Bronx, including all 25 zip codes. Within this area, Health Center sites focus on the low-income and underserved populations.


About the Role: The Practice Manager is responsible for providing administrative oversight of the day-to-day operations of the health center location to which he or she is assigned. They provide direct supervision and management to all clinical and non-clinical staff. The individual interfaces with all clinical staff, managing the educational and operational impact of all clinical care deliveries, staff performance, and outcome measures to support the health care center.


  • Manages the day-to-day operation of the health center location including scheduling, office supply procurement, and staff engagement at the site.
  • Ensure that appropriate staff are trained and held accountable for the job responsibilities of their role.
  • Assist in establishing and implementing short- and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the health center.
  • To work collaboratively with the site Nurse Manager to provide coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program activities, as appropriate to safety and quality program objectives.
  • Represents BCHN in matters related to safety and quality.
  • Manage medical documentation, billing information, and participate in committees and advisory groups related to quality improvement and professional development.
  • Ensures excellent patient experience by implementing strategies to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and patient safety guidelines.
  • To assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance to minimize risk related to patient care, privacy, and security.
  • Assist in the performance appraisal process of designated health center staff.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree (Required)
  • 5 years of experience in a medical office, or healthcare related position, preferably in a FQHC.
  • Certification in Quality Improvement Science (Preferred)
  • 2-3 years of medical office management (Required)
  • Experience in a Supervisory Role.

Salary: Compensation based on skills; experience $80,000 – $85,000.
