We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive medical care to all patients of all ages, focusing on preventative care and health maintenance to our patients at our new FQHC -Health Center in White Plains Road, Bronx.

Bronx Community Health Network (BCHN) was founded in 1996 to ensure that the socio-economically depressed and medically underserved residents of the Bronx have access to high-quality and comprehensive healthcare services, Bronx Community Health Network (BCHN) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization and Federally Qualified Health Center. The organization provides a wide range of comprehensive, coordinated primary medical, oral, and mental health care and related diagnostic, pharmacy, social support, and enabling services for medically underserved/uninsured residents.


BCHN’s mission is to improve the health of people and families in the Bronx; provide access to affordable, quality health care, especially for uninsured persons; promote disease prevention, early treatment and healthful lifestyles; and obtain financial and other resources for programs and services. BCHN’s service area includes the entire borough of the Bronx, including all 25 zip codes. Within this area, Health Center sites focus on the low-income and underserved populations.


About the Role: The Physician is responsible for following the accepted standards within the field of Medicine and setting the clinical standard for delivery of optimal patient care services within the health center. The Physician will serve as a role model for other clinicians as well as ensure compliance of the clinicians under their supervision.


  • Provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all
  • Conduct comprehensive medical examinations and assessments of patients. Elicits and records information regarding patient’s medical history electronically.
  • Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical examinations and assessments of patients.
  • Prescribe medications and other appropriate treatments.
  • Provides patients with health education about preventive care measures, chronic disease self-management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Engage in disciplinary care team meetings to discuss patient treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Supervise the mid-level practitioners’ review and co-sign charts for Nurse Practitioners, and other clinical staff as necessary.
  • Referring patients to specialists as needed for further evaluation and treatment.
  • Contributes to the development of policies and standards of patient care by participating in committees.
  • Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.


Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Current license to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in diagnostic evaluation and patient management.
  • Clinical and administrative experience in a family or community health center, FQHC, or ambulatory care center.
  • Experience EMR Systems

  • Ability to foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team and clients.


Salary: Compensation based on skills; experience $200,000 - $220,000 annually
