BronxWorks is hiring one (1) Family Shelter Director for the Sedgwick Family Residence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the facility is maintained, sanitary, and compliant with regulations.
- Supervise operations staff overseeing for 24 hour security, fire safety, crisis intervention, and communications.
- Manage on-site human recourses functions, including staff hiring, evaluation, supervision, training, and termination
- Plan, develop and implement program policy for the facility
- Participate in fundraising activities and lead or coordinate proposal writing.
- Develop and implement new program components as needed.
- Manage the collection and presentation of clients, administrative, and program data.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget
- Represent agency at interagency meetings
- Perform additional duties assigned
Qualifications (education, professional certifications or licenses, experience, proficiencies)
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health and a LMSW or LMHC license.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years supervisory and contract management experience
- Experience working with governmental agencies
- Extensive experience working with multi-problem families
Skills/Abilities
- Strong crisis management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use a computer for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time
- Climb five flights of stairs.
- Bend and retrieve objects and/documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Walk minimum of 1 mile in various weather conditions, including inclement weather.
- TB Test required within the first 120 days of employment
