RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist clients with concrete needs (e.g., hygiene products, linens, MetroCards, laundry detergent, dorm access, etc.)
Oversee weekly under bed cleanouts and linen exchanges
Manage bed pack-ups, including completing pack-up inventory
Manage use of bed bug oven
Monitor client laundry room as necessary
Manage client property storage and dispose of client property in accordance with policy
Manage inventory of hygiene products, linens, and other client supplies.
Ensure that supplies remain adequately stocked in appropriate locations (e.g., office supplies, cups for water, etc.)
Assist in bed count and census management (for night shift)
Complete new client intakes, including conducting immediate needs assessment, reviewing and signing appropriate client forms, and entering data in appropriate databases
Pick up and deliver packages and complete other errands as assigned
Escort clients to appointments or other locations as necessary either by using agency vehicle or public transportation
Provide general clerical support, including filing, faxing, typing, photocopying and sorting mail
Enter client and program data into computer databases and other tracking systems
Assist in the preparation of mailings
Answer telephones, relay messages and greet clients and other visitors
Perform additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
One to two years relevant experience preferred
Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment
Proficiency in basic filing principles
Driver’s License from the state of residence is preferred, but required for 8 am – 4 pm shift
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and / or fieldwork.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and / or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and / or field work.
