Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Server to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional guest services and will be responsible for overseeing the dining experience, ensuring that all guests receive top-notch service. As a Head Server, you will lead by example, train new staff, and maintain high standards of food handling and sanitation.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the serving staff to ensure efficient service.
- Provide excellent guest relations by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
- Train and mentor new servers on menu items, service techniques, and restaurant policies.
- Manage the flow of service during busy periods to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Handle cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and managing tips.
- Assist with sales initiatives by promoting menu specials and upselling items to enhance guest experience.
- Utilize POS systems effectively for order entry and tracking.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a restaurant setting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong skills in guest services, with an emphasis on building rapport with customers.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and sanitation regulations.
- Proficient in basic math skills for cash register operations.
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours.
- Familiarity with sales techniques to enhance dining experiences through upselling.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also taking initiative when needed.
- Previous experience with POS systems is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
