RN Weekend Supervisor

Job Summary
The Nursing Weekend Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position involves coordinating nursing activities, managing staff performance, and collaborating with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes. The Nursing Weekend Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards while fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff to ensure adherence to best practices in patient care.
• Assisting with admissions/discharges on the weekends.
• Performing treatments/wound care as needed on the weekends.
• Being available for tours on the weekend and assisting any family members with concerns.
• Conduct regular assessments of staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Provide guidance on acute pain management strategies.
• Maintain knowledge of geriatrics and home care practices to support diverse patient populations.

Skills

• Strong understanding of geriatric care principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) usage and management.
• Knowledge of acute pain management techniques and protocols.
• Proficient in medical documentation standards and coding practices.
• Strong leadership abilities, fostering teamwork and collaboration among nursing staff.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
