Marina Yard Technician

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined with a basic knowledge of boats, various tools, and how to use them. Relevant prior experience is a plus; the Marina will train a candidate who is willing to learn, has a positive attitude, can be on time, and follows instructions. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, be comfortable working outdoors, and occasionally lift objects of up to 50 lbs. This is a general overview of the job duties, not a complete list.

Duties include:

• Hauling and launching boats
• Power washing boat bottoms
• Loading and unloading of boats with a hydraulic trailer
• Sell fuel and ice
• Operate the Marine Sanitation Pump Out equipment
• Sand and paint boat bottoms
• Minor fiberglass repairs
• Step and un-step masts, rigging, and tuning
• Facility maintenance

Summary:

As a Marina Yard Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various marine equipment and vessels, ensuring their optimal performance and safety. This role requires a valid driver's license and involves utilizing your mechanical knowledge and rigging skills to perform essential tasks. You will report to the Marina Manager and collaborate with a team to uphold the highest standards of service and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the smooth operation of the marina, supporting both recreational and commercial boating activities.
